Have you ever felt like you weren’t enough? Like who you were didn’t amount to much? Were you that person who walked into a room and aimed to just blend in behind the crowd? If that sounds familiar then then blog post is for you. I want to start by telling you to get rid of these types of feelings and thoughts because they are lies told to you by the enemy.
We were not created to blend in or cower down to anyone or in any room. You were made to stand out and bring flavor to anything in your proximity. How do we know that we (Christians) are suppose to stand out and not blend in? Easy, because we look to the Word of God to be our guiding light. Matthew 5:13-16 says, “You are the salt of the earth. But if the salt loses its saltiness, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled underfoot. You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” If you didn’t understand what those scriptures meant, let me say it another way. You are what makes the earth good. If you don’t let the good placed in you shine, then your good loses its flavor. And if you lose your flavor then you can no longer be of any use to the cook (God).
You have been fearfully and wonderfully made. A human created in the image of God our Father! There is no need to dim your light because God thinks of you as being super special and super good and He loves you so much! He literally can’t get enough of YOU! Even before He created to earth He was thinking of YOU! How do we know this? Because in the very first book of the Bible (Genesis) He mentions you. Genesis 1:26-27 says, “Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them. See! He was thinking of you as soon as the earth had been created suitable for you to be here. WOW! You’re so special that thousands of years ago before you were born, before your parents thought about what to name you, before you grandparents even thought of your parents, God was thinking of you. Isn’t that special?
So because we now see how loved, how important, and how truly enough we really are, there should never be a time when we our worth comes into question. We can walk into a school house, a conference room, or the White House knowing that God is with us, He created us, and we are enough! So be encouraged.
To seal the deal, let us pray that your faith rises on today and that you are grounded in the love that God has for you. Say this prayer with me,
Father God forgive me for ever doubting how fearfully and wonderfully made I was created to be.
I have mistakenly listened to the enemies portrayal of me and I have believed him
Today I rebuke the enemies lies over who I am and my life and I choose to believe your version of who I am
I am a child of God and a child of light.
God I ask that you increase my faith in you and open my eyes to the love you have for me
Let each day teach me how to peacefully rest in who You’ve created me to be
In Jesus name I call it done.
