Single & Running Out of Time

So everyone’s in a relationship right? Every time you turn around someone’s getting engaged or married, smh! Everybody’s got somebody but you. You have been waiting and praying, and praying and waiting and yet you still go to bed alone. Your phone is dry with no changing in sight. The constant thoughts running through your mind says your old, no one wants you, and there are no singles left for you. Does this sound familiar? If so, let me be the first to tell you, you’re wrong! Both your eyes and your mind are playing cruel tricks on you. The first thing you need to know is that singleness is not a curse. Most people who are single and don’t want to be, ask themselves and God, why they haven’t found someone yet. There is an unintentional pity party singles have because they feel that they are missing out on something. And that is simply not true.

Let’s start with your mindset. The old saying is “you are what you think”. So if you focus all of your attention on the fact that you are missing out on something or that you feel lonely, then your body will follow your mind. You must stop seeing the dark in your situation but see the light through the darkness. This time of alone-ness gives you time to do all the things you want to do without worrying about any one else’s opinion. You can take that trip, buy that expensive bag, invest in that stock, all without asking or worrying about another person’s feelings on the matter. Your time of alone-ness is YOUR TIME! You can save your money or spend your money. You can cook every night or eat out every night. You can dress like a super model every day or wear nothing but leggings. Your time is your time. But the most important thing to remember is that you can devote most of your time to thing things of God. I bet you didn’t think about that huh? Right now in your singlehood, you can devote as much time as you want to church, church functions, etc. And there is no one you have to rush home to, no one that you have to take care of, no one that you are having to split your time with. It’s just you and God! Think of how much time you can spend in the presence of God without having to come out of God’s presence and cook dinner, wash and iron clothes, clean up, etc.

Still think God has forgotten about you? Then think about this. God created marriage so if you desire it then He desires it for you. He hasn’t forgotten that you are not married, however, it could be a few reasons to why you are not yet married. Think about these things and see if they apply to you. God can not send you an option for marriage if you have some one occupying the space a spouse should occupy. Are you in a “situationship” with someone that is just wasting your time? Are you participating in sinful things that you know are keeping your from being all you can be in Christ? Are you trying to “help” God out by entertaining a lot of different people hoping that one will end up being your one? Are you doubting that God will come through for you at all in the relationship department? And lastly, are you not putting God first in all things? If any of these sound like you, then you’ve figured out your why. Seems harsh right? Like Tina you don’t understand, you’re married already. But I’ve been single too loves and I had to ask myself all the questions I just asked you above. I had to take a real hard look at myself and how I was contributing to me not being paired up. And that’s what I’m asking you to do.

You can’t blame God because something you want to happen isn’t happening as quickly as you want it to happen when you are not doing the things God has already told you do to get the things to happen. LOL I hope you caught that! Matthew 6:33 says, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” God clearly gives us the formula for getting and receiving the things we want but for some reason we ignore His words written in black and white and try to do it our own way. We often times let our independence and our own mind get in the way of what we really want. And the silly thing is that we don’t even stop to realize that we are doing it. Well I’m here to tell you that we are doing it and we need to stop. God didn’t give us a mystery we had to solve, He tells us clearly what to do and what will happen when we do it. So just GO DO THAT! Don’t feel sorry for yourself because you aren’t waiting on God, He is actually waiting on you. You are the hold up! Stop holding yourself up. Get in position, stop playing games, get serious and then you can have what you want when you least expect it.

Sorry I had to be tough my loves, but tough loves saves the day!

Go do what you know to do and I will talk to you another time!

Bye loves
