Hello my loves. If you’ve stumbled across these words looking for encouragement during these trying and uncertain times, you’ve stumbled to the right place. I use the word stumbled jokingly, knowing that it is not a mistake that you are here.
There has been so much going on this year that it can be hard to gather ourselves and keep going. You may have had first hand experience with the disease that has ravaged the world we once knew. Or you could feel down, scared, and depressed about everything you’re seeing on the news, on social media, and from family and friends. If that is you, you are in the right place.
Let me put your worried mind to rest my loves. God said in His sweet word that He does not give us the spirit of fear. What does this mean? That we aren’t suppose to feel fear? That can’t be right because the feeling of fear is real, right? Right. Fear is a real feeling but God’s word says that He does not give us fear, so how do we get fear? We feel fear by believing the lies of our eyes and the lies of the enemy. Media outlets and social platforms show us the worst of the world we live in. It is easy to believe what we see because surely we should be able to trust our eyes, right? Wrong. Even our eyes can lie to us. This is why God’s word says that faith is the evidence of things NOT SEEN. We sometimes have to close our eyes and ears to the things going on in this world so that we can maintain the peace God wants us to have.
We can trust that God has everything in control. And that nothing is a surprise to HIm. He knew about the corona virus coming to attack the world in 2020. It didn’t sneak up on Him like it did many of us. So if He is the God who knows all, sees all, and can do all, why are we afraid of what this virus can do? Do we not trust Him. Has He not already proven that He is a good God? Since He has proven His goodness to us time and time again, rest in Him on today.
Build yourself with the Word of the Lord. Read Isaiah 41:10, “So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.”
Stay encouraged my loves
